- Luciano Pavarotti , Placido Domingo and Jose Carreras began to give joint concerts as part of the Three Tenors project.
- The rock group "Cinema" ceased to exist in connection with the death of the leader - Viktor Tsoi .
- The great Russian composer Alfred Schnittke moves to live in Hamburg , where he lives until his death in 1998 .
