Location

The battalion was stationed on Matrosskaya Tishina Street in Sokolniki. In the fall of 2013, the building of the barracks, despite the protests of the townspeople [2] , was illegally demolished by the investor of JSC 494 UNR in order to free the territory for commercial development [3] . Part of the barracks complex, the military church of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary “that of the Minesweeper Battalion”, built in 1906 on the opposite side of the street at the expense of the military, who lived in these barracks, was restored by 2014.
