Biography
Vasily Yaroslavovich Virastyuk was born on April 22, 1974 in Ivano-Frankivsk in the family of a truck driver [1] .
At 10, he began athletics , pushing the nucleus . Pupil of Ivan Sharia [2] .
He graduated from the 8th grade of Ivano-Frankivsk high school in 1989 . At 13, he first got behind the wheel of a truck and immediately drove 25 kilometers [3] .
In 1992 he graduated from the College of Physical Education in Ivano-Frankivsk, then until 1994 he served in the Ukrainian army.
After the army, he worked as a track and field coach in the sports club "Ukraine" until 2000. In 1995 he became a master of sports . In 1998 he became a master of sports of international class . Since 2000 - has been engaged in power all-around World's Strongest Man (Ukraine is known as the “athlete all-around”, broadcast by the “ 1 + 1 ” channel)
In 2004, he participated in the Fort Boyard game with a team of Warriors. He was a member of the national track and field team of Ukraine until 2000.
He worked as a driver and security guard in the concern "Galnaftogaz" in Lviv since 2000.
According to the results of international competitions, he was recognized as the strongest man on the planet in 2004 and the world champion according to one version in 2007.
He took part in advertising campaigns for Arsenal beer and the Alcest company, which produces construction tools and building materials [4] .
In 2003, he married the champion of Ukraine in fitness Svetlana Zabiyake. The wife of a strong man died in January 2006 in the Turkish ski resort Palandoken : during the descent from the mountain, the 27-year-old athlete covered herself with a snow avalanche. From this marriage, V. Virastyuk left his son Adam (born 2003).
In September 2007, the Strongman married a second time. Wife Inna is an employee of the German pharmaceutical company Bayer in Ukraine. March 19, 2008 the second son was born at the Ukrainian hero, the baby was called Oleg.
On November 9, 2015, the State Border Service of Ukraine reported that Vasily Virastyuk became an inspector of the border service (undergoing military service at Lviv Airport ) [5] .
