History
The name is based on the name of the former village of Mikhalovo , in connection with which the theme of nature is present in the interior - a cold sunset.
Construction began in 2007 . Initially, the station was designed with two entrance halls equipped with escalators. In the future, the design of the station underwent changes, the station was designed a meter closer to the ground, which eliminated the need to install escalators [1] . The Grushevka, Mikhalovo and Petrovshchina stations were opened on November 7, 2012 [2] as part of the 4th stage of the first line of the Minsk Metro.
Design
"Mikhalovo" refers to the type of column three-span station. The name was given to her by the village located here earlier. Hence the design motives close to nature - the theme of a cold sunset, interior materials - marble, granite, stainless steel. "Mikhalovo" is designed with one entrance lobby, which is located in the very middle of the station. It is assumed that such a layout will be leading in the development of metro stations of this type.
Location
The station is located at the intersection of Dzerzhinsky Avenue and Gursky Street ( Moskovsky District ).
One of the largest suburban bus stations in Minsk, Yugo-Zapadnaya, is located at the distance of one bus stop south of the station. Buses from the Ozersovsky and Brest destinations depart from the bus station, a significant part of the flights of the Slutsk direction, the middle part of Rakovsky and a small part of Zaslavsky directions. Buses of all directions, except Brest, pass through the stop "Mikhalovo metro station", but only buses of the Ozersovsky direction stop on it.
Perspectives
After the opening of the 4th line after 2020, the Beresteyskaya station should appear. She will have a transition from the Moscow line to the fourth .
Interesting Facts
- The first time after the station was opened, the autoinformer on trains announced the name of the station with an accent on the second syllable: "Mikhailova". However, a week later the station began to be announced correctly: "Mіkhalova" (with emphasis on the third syllable).
