Barragan, Louis

Luis Barragán ( March 9, 1902 - November 22, 1988 ) is the most influential Mexican architect of the 20th century . Initially, it was close to the international style of Le Corbusier (whom he considered a teacher), but evolved towards uncompromising flat minimalism while preserving national specifics (bright colors, traditional Mexican materials, an abundance of fountains and ponds, greenery arrays - “emotional architecture”, as he himself defined it) master). The second architect to receive the Pritzker Prize (1980). His own mansion in Mexico City (1947) is listed as a World Heritage Site .
