Biography
Born in Astrakhan on January 30, 1911 in the family of an employee. From childhood he became interested in theater, participated in home performances, attended the school drama circle. In 1929 he graduated from high school, in 1931 - the Makhachkala Land Surveying and Reclamation and Forestry Technical School, and after returning to Astrakhan until 1933 he worked in his specialty, without stopping playing in the theater.
In 1929-1931 - actor of the Theater of Working Youth of Dagestan . Since 1933 - actor of the Realistic Theater in Moscow. In the years 1936-1937 - actor of the Chamber Theater. Since 1939 - the actor of the theaters of the Far East, Siberia and the Urals. During the Great Patriotic War, he played on the stages of the Mobile Theater of the Amur Railway . Since 1953 - actor of the Sverdlovsk Drama Theater. Since 1954 - actor of the Perm (Molotovsky) Drama Theater. Since 1957 - the actor of the film studio " Lenfilm ".
In the cinema, he masterfully performed mainly the roles of negative characters (for example, the debut role of the recidivist Shmyglo in the 1955 film “ The Rumyantsev Case ”). He starred in more than sixty films.
He was fond of drawing (some works are posted on the official website ).
He died in Leningrad on August 22, 1987 . He was buried at the Bolsheokhtinsky cemetery in St. Petersburg .
