Galemiri, Benhamin

A descendant of the Sephardims , who in 1920 migrated from Smyrna . In 1974 he created the group "Gothic Theater", put on the play "The Architect and Emperor of Assyria" by Fernando Arrabal . He graduated from the University of Santiago. In 1977 he wrote the first play "The Cabinet".

He is the author of satirical and black comedies, Lope de Vega , Moliere , Rostand, and reworkings. Collaborates with F. Arrabal, Raoul Ruiz , Alejandro Khodorovsky . Acts as a screenwriter, including in his own short and full-length films.

Winner of many domestic and foreign awards. Since 2007 , the complete works of Galemyri have been published, the first volume has been published.

Plays Galemyri translated into French, German and other languages, they go to the stages of many theaters in the world. In Russia, his “Coordinator” was staged by the Moscow Hermitage Theater ( 2005 ).
