Stilb (designation: Sat , sb ; from the Greek. Στίλβω - sparkle) is the unit of brightness in the GHS system.
1 stilb is equal to the brightness of a uniformly luminous flat surface with an area of 1 cm 2 in the direction perpendicular to it with a light intensity of 1 candela .
1 Sat = 10 4 cd / m²
Currently, this unit is almost out of use [1] . In its recommendations, the International Organization of Legal Metrology (OIML) classifies the stilb among the units of measurement “which should be withdrawn from circulation as soon as possible where they are currently used, and which should not be introduced if they are not used” [2] .
