History
Homestead in Havavencello
The village was formed as a result of the merger of two settlements - Gava and Venchelle in 1971. Gava was first mentioned in 1304, Venchello in 1407.
Population
The village covers an area of 66.83 km², there are 3537 residents (according to 2010) [1] . According to 2001 data, 97% of the inhabitants of the village are Hungarians , 3% are gypsies [2] .
Location
The village is located about 25 km north of the city of Nyiregyhaza . There is a railway station in the village. The river Tisa flows north of the village.
