History
VIB in Latrun
It was mass-produced from 1936 to 1940 , a total of 1285 Mk.VIs were produced in various versions with a Meadows ESTB 6- cylinder liquid-cooled carburetor. During World War II, these tanks were used to a limited extent by British troops in battles until 1942 , some of them were also sold to other countries.
Modifications
Mk VIC with 15mm BESA
- Mk.VI - basic version, 81 copies.
- Mk.VIA - minor changes to the commander's turret and chassis, 115 copies.
- Mk.VIB - minor changes in the reservation and an arm for attaching an additional 7.7 mm anti-aircraft machine gun.
- Mk.VI Indian version ( Eng.Mk VI India Pattern ) - 60 Mk VIA and 43 MK VIB without a commander’s turret, intended for delivery to Indian troops.
- Mk.VIC - 12.7 mm and 7.7 mm machine guns were replaced with 15 mm and 7.92 mm BESA machine guns , 129 units.
