History

Initially, Kelly Bailey worked at Microsoft as a product manager . He was also actively involved in database and network application programming.

In the late 90s, Kelly Bailey joined the American company Valve , which at that time was working on its first game, Half-Life . He wrote all the music and made all the sound effects for Half-Life (except for the soundtrack used in Half-Life: Opposing Force and Half-Life: Blue Shift , authored by Chris Jensen ), and also wrote an audio code that allowed he has the original DSP effects and unusual speech from the characters. In addition, Bailey's face was used to model the face of the main character in the Half-Life universe, Gordon Freeman . [1] [2] Subsequently, Bailey worked on all the other games developed by Valve, up to the Half-Life 2 games : Episode Two and Portal of 2007 release.

In early March 2011, the gaming community learned that back in 2010, Kelly Bailey had left Valve. Lambda Generation users noticed that the list of employees of Valve, which is located on its official website, has disappeared mention of Kelly Bailey. Then they contacted a Valve employee who said that Bailey "left us a long time ago." The successor to Bailey as chief composer and sound engineer was Mike Morasky ( Eng. Mike Morasky ), who participated in writing music for Team Fortress 2 , Portal , Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 . [1] [2] [3] [4]

On May 7, 2011, Mike Moraski, in an interview with podcast17, said that after leaving, Bailey started his own projects, but there is a possibility of his return to Valve. [five]

January 15, 2014, Mike Moraski at the Steam Dev Days conference announced that Bailey is returning to Valve.

On March 18, 2016, Forbes published an article about the final departure of Bailey from Valve and the founding of his own game development studio IndiMo Labs. The first game developed by the studio is Vanishing Realms: Rite of Steel - role-playing game for the virtual reality helmets of HTC Vive , available in early access from April 5, 2016 on Steam .
