Name Origin
It was named in 1925 in honor of G. A. Atarbekov (1892-1925) - a security officer, a participant in the struggle for Soviet power in the North Caucasus .
History
Previously - Middle Street. From June 7, 1922 to 1925 - Schepalovskaya street . It was called Shchepalovskaya street - by the name of the homeowner. In 1926 it was renamed Kotovskaya Street in honor of the merchant Kotov, who was subsequently elected the headman of the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord , who also took care of the Olga shelter, which was located on this street. On November 23, 1961, it was renamed in memory of George Alexandrovich Atarbekov (Atarbekyan). The name was transferred from the abolished street (in Bogorodsky), so named December 17, 1925 .
