District History

Drawing Voronezh 1694

At the end of the 16th century and the beginning of the 17th century, the village of Klementievskaya (Klementievka) [2] , [3] was founded by settlers on the left bank of the Voronezh river . which was so named by the name of one of its inhabitants. Subsequently, it became the property of the Assumption Monastery and became known as Monastyrshchenka. In 1700 Monastyrshchenko began to belong to the Alekseevsky Akatov monastery .

In 1587, the settlement Pridacha [2] was founded as the additional lands of the urban Cossacks, who protected the city from raids. Documents Akatova monastery reported that in 1616 the Cossacks fled. In 1680, the construction of the Church of the Nativity of Christ was completed. She was wooden. In 1795, a stone church with the same name was built instead. Before the advent of their churches in Monastyrschenka and the village Otrozhka, their parishes belonged to the Church of the Nativity of Christ.

In 1925, the regional executive committee decided to unite the Pridachu suburb with the city of Voronezh [2] , but in fact this happened only in 1930.

In the Commune number 6 of January 8, 1931, [4] they wrote:

According to the integrated plan, further growth in Voronezh is planned mainly along the left bank of the river, where large-scale industrial construction is expected in the coming years. The layout of Monastyrshchenka settlement has already been drawn up and approved. From the wretched floor of a village village, it should turn into a part of a large well-planned socialist city with a population of 60 thousand people. A new city is planned by the type of garden city. It will be surrounded on all sides by greenery, which, together with public gardens and parks located in the center, will occupy up to 50% of the entire city square. It is planned to build a number of public and cultural institutions: the houses of the district council, the house of culture, kitchen factories, workers' clubs, schools and dispensaries. A large place will also be occupied by urban municipal enterprises - bathhouses, central car garages, waste incineration station, central laundry, bakery, and two department stores. Housing construction will be carried out according to the type of communal houses with public canteens, nurseries, rest rooms, etc.

The new district was created in 1933 and became known as Stalin [5] .

In the years 1928-1932 built a synthetic rubber plant to them. S.M. Kirov. In the years 1930-1932 built an aircraft factory. In 1934, the Soviet propaganda, passenger multi-seat, eight-engined aircraft, the largest land plane of its time - ANT-20 "Maxim Gorky" [6] was built at the Voronezh Aviation Plant. In 1934–1936, the ANT-25 aircraft was launched at the plant, in 1939, the Il-2 attack aircraft (the plant was awarded the Order of Lenin for its production), and in 1958, the serial production of the AN-10 civilian passenger aircraft.

In 1961, the Stalin district was renamed Levoberezhny [5] .
