Eliza Cook ( born Eliza Cook ; December 24, 1818 - September 23, 1889 , Wimbledon, London ) is an English poetess .

Biography and Creativity
In 1835 she published the first collection of poems: “Lays of a Wild Harp”, followed by others in 1838 , 1864 and 1865 . From 1849 to 1854 she published a magazine: Eliza Cook's Journal and most of the articles published here were later published separately under the title Jottings from my Journal ( 1860 ) [2] .
In 1865, she published Diamond Dust, a collection of aphorisms and maxims. Some poems of her for a long time were reprinted in school and other anthologies (for example, “The English man”, “The Rover's Song”) [2] .
