Biography
Father - literary critic Vytautas Kubilius , mother - literary critic Yanina Zhekaite . He studied at Vilnius 22nd secondary school (1963-1974), then at the Faculty of Physics of Vilnius University (1974-1979) and in graduate school there (1981-1984). In 1984-1990 he worked at Vilnius University as a laboratory assistant, engineer, researcher. Political Activities
In 1992, according to the coalition list, Kubilius was elected to the VI Saeima (1992-1996). He was a headman of the conservative Fatherland Union. He worked in the Committee for Nature Protection. Member of the Union of the Fatherland Party ( Tėvynės sąjunga ) since its founding in 1993.
