Vanin, Alexey Zakharovich

Alexey Vanin was born on January 9, 1925 (according to other sources - February 13, 1924 ) in the village of Blagoveshchenka, Rebrikhinsky District, Siberian Territory (now the Blagoveshchensky District, Altai Territory ). The actor explained the difference with the confusion in the birthdays by the fact that he specially added himself a year in order to be called up for the front.

Alexey Vanin was a participant in the Great Patriotic War , fought in the Stalin Siberian Division as a sniper, in artillery as a scout, was wounded three times. After the war, before demobilization he was an army artist. He was sent for admission to the Odessa Artillery School .

Demobilized at the end of 1945 , he worked as the director of the Kiselevsky Theater. Vasily Ivanovich Anisimov, master of sports in classical wrestling , noticed Alexei and began to train him. In the evenings, after work, Vanin attended training. Soon Alexey Vanin became the champion of the city of Kiselevsk, where he then lived. Then the champion titles of Kemerovo , all of Siberia, Moscow were obtained. Two-time silver (1956, 1959) and two-time bronze medalist (1955, 1961) of the USSR championships in classical wrestling .

In 1949 he was invited to Moscow, where he planned to engage in coaching.

In 1953, there was a search for an actor to play a major role in the film “ World Champion ”. Of the 33 candidates, the choice fell on Alexey Vanin. So the front-line soldier and wrestler became an actor.

Apart from the main actor’s profession, Alexey Vanin continued to act in film, studied at the Institute of Physical Culture, then at the school of locomotive drivers. In the early 1960s, he was arrested and convicted of smuggling (he took 30 stopwatch for sale with him on a business trip to Hungary ). Served a year and a half, released ahead of schedule for exemplary behavior. He was expelled from the CPSU , dismissed from CSKA . Since 1962, he worked as a trainer at DSO Lokomotiv .

He was married six times (the last in 1996 ).

All his life he was fond of drawing. In Moscow he attended the Grekov art studio ^[2] .

He died on May 22, 2012 at the 88th year of life after a long illness ^[3] . He was buried in Moscow at the Vladykino cemetery .

In the film “Outskirts” by Pyotr Lutsik, Alexey Vanin, acting as the former chairman of the Romanovsky collective farm (a scene with a hole in the ice hole), names his age at the time of filming and tells the fact from his true biography, namely, ascribing himself to one year, he went to the front.
