Bezimisaraka

Betsimisaraka (“those who are numerous and not separable”) is one of the ethnic groups of the Malagasy who occupies most of the eastern coast of Madagascar from the Manandyara region in the south to the Antalaha region in the north.

Betsimisaraka is warlike.

Around 1550-1800, an independent state of Betsimisarak existed on the territory of East Madagascar. Around 1800, it was annexed to the kingdom of Imerin , uniting the scattered lands of Madagascar.
