Biography

Born on August 24 (September 5), 1868 in the village. Alekseevskoe of the Chernysky district, Tula province. He graduated from the Tula Theological Seminary (1888) [1] and the Kiev Theological Academy (1892).

Since 1893 he taught philosophy at the Podolsk Theological Seminary , as well as literature, the history of Russian literature and pedagogy at the Podolsk Women's College. Since 1897, he was an acting assistant professor at the Department of the History of Philosophy of the Kiev Theological Academy, then an assistant professor (1908), an extraordinary (1909) and an ordinary (1918) professor. P.I. Kudryavtsev is one of the organizers of the Kiev religious and philosophical society (founded on January 23, 1908) and its chairman from February 1910 to May 1912. In 1914 he became a member, and subsequently a fellow (deputy) head of the Scientific and Philosophical Society, founded at Kiev University.

At the Local Council in 1917 he was elected a member of the Council Council, a deputy member of the Supreme Church Council, a member of the Pre-Council Council; participated in the work of the department of liturgical language [2] . In 1918, he was the chairman of the scientific committee under the Minister of Confession of the Ukrainian Hetman Government V.V. Zenkovsky. In 1919-1921 - A supernumerary professor at the Department of History and Ancient Philosophy at the Department of History and Philology of Taurida University . Since 1919 he was an employee of the historical-philological department of the Autonomous Academy of Sciences. In the early 1930s he was sentenced to camp work, activated 3 years later due to heart disease. In August 1938 he was again arrested, released in April 1939. He died in the summer of 1940; buried in Kiev.
