By the law of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug of October 20, 2010 No. 88-OZ [4] , the urban settlement of Bilibino and the rural settlement of Keperveem were transformed, by combining them, into the urban settlement of Bilibino with the administrative center in the city of Bilibino .

Municipal History
By the law of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug of October 20, 2010 No. 88-OZ [4] , the urban settlement of Bilibino and the rural settlement of Keperveem were transformed, by combining them, into the urban settlement of Bilibino with the administrative center in the city of Bilibino .
The law of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug dated October 20, 2010 No. 85-OZ [5] abolished the rural settlement of Nutepelmen with the inclusion of its territory in the inter-settlement territory of the Iulta municipal district.
Law of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug of September 23, 2015 No. 67-OZ [6] , all municipalities of the Iultinsky municipal district are urban settlements: Cape Schmidta and Egvekinot ; Rural settlements: Amguema , Vankarem , Konergino , Ryrkaipiy and Uelkal - were united in the urban district of Egvekinot .
According to the Law of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug of October 20, 2010 No. 89-OZ [7] , the city of Provideniya, the rural settlement of New Chaplino and the rural settlement of Sireniki , were transformed, by their unification, into the urban settlement of Provideniya with the administrative center in the urban-type settlement of Provideniya .
By the Law of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug dated June 8, 2015 No. 51-ОЗ [8] , all municipalities of the Provideniya municipal district — the Provideniya urban settlement , the Yanrakynnot rural settlement, the Nunligran rural settlement, the Enmelen rural settlement — were merged into the Providensky urban district .
By the Law of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug of October 20, 2010 No. 87-OZ [9] , the urban settlement of Pevek and the rural settlement of Yanranai were transformed, by combining them, into the urban settlement of Pevek with the administrative center in the city of Pevek .
By the Law of Chukotka Autonomous Okrug dated June 8, 2015 No. 50-OZ [10] , all municipalities of the Chaunsky municipal district — Pevek urban settlement , Ayon rural settlement, Billings rural settlement, Rytkuchi rural settlement — were merged into Pevek urban district .
History
Until 1930
Counties: 1. Aklansky, 2. Izhiginsky, 3. Nizhnekamchatsky, 4. Okhotsk
Until 1888, the territory of the modern autonomous region was administratively part of the Gizhiginsky district of the Primorsky region .
In 1888, the Anadyr District of the Primorsky Region was established (the center is the village of Novo-Mariinskoe ).
- 1909. The district moved to the Kamchatka region . Anadyr and Chukot counties were formed on its territory.
- 1912. The center of the Chukchi county was moved from Providence Bay to Uelen .
- 1926. The territory of modern Chukotka became part of the Far Eastern Territory . Counties are transformed into districts.
1930-1953 years. Chukchi Autonomous Region of the Far Eastern (Khabarovsk) Territory
The Chukchi National District (the center is the Chukchi Cultural Base, St. Lawrence Bay, temporarily) as part of the Far Eastern Territory was formed on December 10, 1930 by a resolution of the Presidium of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee of the RSFSR “On the Organization of National Associations in the Settlement Areas of Small North Peoples”. The district included the Anadyr and Chukotka districts of the Kamchatka district of the Far Eastern Territory, the territory of the Eastern tundra with a border on the right bank of the Alazeya and Western tundra, regions of the middle and lower reaches of the Omolon River from the Yakut Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic . [11] The district was divided into 6 districts:
- Anadyrsky (center - Anadyr village)
- East Tundra (center - Ostrovnoy)
- Western Tundra (center - Nizhnekolymsk )
- Markovsky (center - Markovo )
- Chaunsky (the center is in the region of Chaunskaya Bay (now Pevek )) [12]
- Chukchi (center - Chukchi Cultural Base, St. Lawrence Guba)
On May 10, 1931, by the Decree of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee of the RSFSR, the Western Tundra region was transferred to the Yakut Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic . In the summer of that year [13], the center of the Chukotka Autonomous Region was moved to the village of Anadyr . [14]
On July 22, 1934, the decree of the Presidium of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee "On the New Administrative Division of the Far Eastern Territory" Chukotka National District was included in the Kamchatka region of the Far Eastern (since 1938 - Khabarovsk ) region.

On May 18, 1951, the Chukotka National District was separated from the Kamchatka Region and transferred directly to the Khabarovsk Territory. [15]
On December 2, 1953, a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Council "On the formation of districts within the Khabarovsk Territory" was formed Iultinsky district. [sixteen]
1953-1992 Chukotka NO (JSC) of the Magadan Region
On December 3, 1953, by the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the USSR, the Chukotka National District was transferred from the Khabarovsk Territory to the newly formed Magadan Region .
April 25, 1957 were formed by disaggregation of the Chukotsky region - Providensky district, by disaggregation of the Anadyr district - Beringovsky district. [17] [18] [19]
On June 3, 1960, the Markov district was abolished.
On August 2, 1961, the East Tundra District was renamed the Bilibino District; its center was transferred from Anyuisk to Bilibino . [17]
On December 27, 1973, the Shmidtovsky district was formed (the center is the village of Cape Schmidt). [17]
On November 20, 1980, the law of the RSFSR “On the Autonomous Districts of the RSFSR” in accordance with the 1977 Constitution of the USSR Chukotka National District was transformed into an autonomous region. [20]

since 1992. Chukotka AO
On June 17, 1992, the Chukotka Autonomous Region by Law of the Russian Federation No. 3056-1 was isolated from the Magadan Region and became an independent subject of the Russian Federation. [21]
In 2000, the center of the Beringovsky district was transferred from Nagorny to the Beringovsky settlement, and the former district center was abolished and included in the latter. [22]
On May 30, 2008, by the law of the Chukotka Autonomous Region No. 40-OZ, the Shmidtovsky and Iultinsky districts were merged into the Eastern region (the center is the village of Egvekinot); Law of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug No. 41-OZ Anadyrsky and Beringovsky districts were merged into the Central region (the center is the village of Coal Mine). On November 18, 2008, the law of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug No. 145-OZ Central District was renamed the Anadyr District ; Law of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug No. 146-OZ Vostochny District was renamed Iultinsky District . [25]
