About the album
The idea of creating a fairy tale arose from Yuri Klinsky in 1989. He started writing material for the album in 1991.
One of the most famous music albums of the group, played in horror-punk and folk-rock style, called the punk opera. Recorded at the Voronezh studio Black Box in March 1994 and released in June of the same year by Moscow label Gala Records.
This concept album was recorded on the motive of the Russian folk tale about Ivan-Tsarevich and Vasilis the Beautiful in the free interpretation. It is present narration, as well as the performance of arias actors. The music for the vocal parts was borrowed from Western groups and re-arranged. Only “The Second Aria of Ivan” is a completely original composition. In the intervals between the songs, the Narrator with black humor and caricature pathos, using profanity , narrates the adventures of the main character.
The beginning of Voronezh singer Irina Puhonina took part in the recording of this album.
Two years later, videotapes of the fairy tale were started, but for financial reasons they were not completed. And, nevertheless, in the summer of 2000 it was planned to complete the shooting, but this was prevented by the death of Yuri Klinsky . Thus, some of the working video materials of the compositions have been preserved: “Ivan's aria and the frogs” , “Ivan's second aria” and “Ivan's third aria” .

Facts
- The text of Ivan’s Arias is based on the song “Ripe Cherries” by Grigory Gladkov (Likhansky), which is known by Arkady Severny .
- During the Narrator's narrations, fragments of the suite “ Pictures from the Exhibition ” by M. P. Mussorgsky in the orchestral treatment of M. Ravel are heard.
- In 1996, Yuri Klinsky began to compose another tale about Emelya (“ At the prompting force ”) [1] , but it remained unfinished [2] . On the Internet, there is a working version of the tale, added by fans. [3]
- Due to the fact that Yuri (Khoi) Klinsky did not control the typographical process, in the booklets of tapes, plates and discs published by Gala Records, false information was printed from year to year: incorrect composition of the group, photographs not corresponding to chronology, some where dates and names are confused. So this album was not without such errors.
- In 2007, a cover version of the album “Kashchei Immortal” was released in the Tatar language, the author of an approximate translation of the songs is Filyus (Berket) Mukhametshin, arranger of the People’s Artist of Tatarstan Chania Farhi .
- The premiere of the concert version of the album “Kashchei Immortal” was held on November 30, 2018 in the Main Club Green Concert in Moscow and on December 1, 2018 in the St. Petersburg club Zal. [4] Keyboardist Alexey Ushakov returned to the role of the king, and the performer of all the women's parts of the album Irina Puhonina performed the role of Baba Yaga. The group "Black Tuesday" took part in the concert, having performed "Introduction" and all the musical accompaniment, and its soloist Maxim Korobov became the main performer of Ivan and sang in a duet with back-vocalist of the Gas Sector Tatiana Fateeva "Aria Ivan and the Frog." Ilya Narezhny from the Red Mold group appeared in the role of narrator.
