Ahe ( Fr. Ahe ) - an atoll in the Tuamotu archipelago ( French Polynesia ). Located 15 km west of the atoll Maniha and 450 km northeast of the island of Tahiti .

Geography
The atoll is about 20 km long and 10 km wide. Land area - 12 km². In the center is a large lagoon with an area of 138 km². The only passage connecting the lagoon to ocean waters is located in the western part of Ahe.
History
The island was discovered on September 6, 1839 by the American Charles Wilkes , who called Ahe the island of Peacock.
Population
In 2007, the population of the atoll was 561 people. The main settlement is the village of Tenukupara , located in the southern part of the atoll. The island has a runway. The population is growing pearls in the lagoon of the atoll.
Administrative Division
Administratively part of the Maniha commune.
