Hamanu ( fr. and conceals. Amanu ) - an atoll in the archipelago of Tuamotu ( French Polynesia ). Located 15 km north of Khao Atoll.

Geography
The atoll has the shape of an oval. The island is about 29 km long and 10 km wide. The land area is 9.6 km². In the center of Amanu is a large lagoon with an area of 240 km². In the western part of the atoll there are three narrow strait connecting the lagoon with ocean waters.
History
The island was discovered on February 12, 1606 by mariner Pedro Fernandez Quiroz . In 1820, Aman was investigated by the Russian traveler Faddey Faddeevich Bellingshausen , who named the island atoll Moller in honor of Rear Admiral Moller.
Population
In 2007, the population of Haman was 163 people. The main settlement is the village of Ikitake ( Ikitake ), located on the west coast of the atoll.
Administrative division
Administratively part of the municipality of Hao.
