History

In the second half of the 19th century, the need arose for the construction of a railway that would connect industrial centers with the sea. It was necessary for sending coal by water to all ports of the Azov-Black Sea basin and for exporting it abroad.

In 1878, construction of the Mariupol branch of the Konstantinovskaya railway began from the Elenovka station .

In 1882 the construction of the railway to the city of Mariupol was completed. She connected Mariupol with Elenovka. Built railway station building . First, its central part, and then it gradually overgrown with wings, two on each side. The opening of the movement of trains on the Mariupol section of the railway.

From 8 to 20 December 1905, a strike of railway workers of Mariupol was organized, supporting the December armed uprising, during which the movement of trains at the station to Yasinovataya station was suspended. The speech was suppressed by the troops.

In May 1947, the daily departure of an reserved-class carriage of direct communication Mariupol - Moscow from the station Mariupol was organized. At the Yasinovataya station it was attached to the Stalino -Moscow train.

In 1974 a new station building was built.

In 2001, the Mariupol-Kiev train was introduced after reconstruction and processing. Since June 10 - the corporate train "Azov".

In 2007, the station building was repaired. The facade of the building was updated, automatic sliding doors were installed. On the platform there is an analog clock.
