Biography
Pavel Moiseevich was born in the city of Cheremkhovo in 1932.
In 1935, the family moved to Irkutsk . His father, M. Ya. Yaverbaum, organizer and head of the Irkutsk Regional Dermatovenerologic Dispensary, Ph.D. in Medicine, excellent student in public health, Honored Doctor of the RSFSR . Mother, Z. T. Senchillo-Yaverbaum, after graduating from graduate school with Professor K.P. Sapozhkov , taught, in 1953-1972 she headed the Department of Hospital Surgery of the IGMI, doctor of medical sciences, professor.
Pavel Yaverbaum graduated from Irkutsk Men's Secondary School No. 11 with a silver medal. While still at school, he entered the School of Music at the Department of Piano in the class of Tatyana Gugovna Bendlin, and completed three courses at the music school.
In 1950, Pavel Yaverbaum became a student at the Irkutsk Medical Institute. After which he worked with honors in the laboratory of the MSC of the Usolsky Chemical Industry (then Object N), and since 1957 - the head of the laboratory department of the Irkutsk Regional Clinical Hospital.
Under the guidance of the head of the Department of Biochemistry, Professor P. A. Shershnev, he prepared and in 1966 defended his thesis “Changes in Some Biochemical Indicators in Industrial Contact with Lead”.
In 1965 he moved to the biochemical department of the Central Scientific Research Laboratory of the Irkutsk State Medical Institute, and in 1967-1986. was a senior researcher, head of the Central Scientific Research Laboratory. For eleven years he was the chairman of the Irkutsk Society of Laboratory Physicians and at the same time the chief specialist in the laboratory service of the Irkutsk Regional Health Department.
In 1986, P. M. Yaverbaum was elected a senior lecturer at the Department of Biochemistry, IGMI.
In 1989, he defended his doctoral dissertation "The Role of Disorders of the Red Blood Cell Metabolism in the Pathogenesis of Toxic Anemia."
In 1990, he was elected professor at the Department of Biochemistry.
Together with prof. V. G. Vasiliev created a textbook on biochemistry for the dental faculty "Biochemistry of connective tissue, bone, tooth and saliva."
P. M. Yaverbaum is the author of 108 scientific works, two inventions. In 2006, his monograph, General Issues of the Toxic Effect of Lead, was published.
Yaverbaum prepared 6 candidates of medical sciences.
Member of the International Biochemical Congress of 1961 and four All-Union Biochemical Congresses. In 1990-2001 was a member of the dissertation council at the East Siberian Scientific Center of the SB RAMS.
