Born on June 22, 1822 in Moscow, and after completing his initial education in a private educational institution, he entered the service of a non-commissioned officer in the Tenginsky Regiment in 1840, with whom he took part in a number of military operations with the highlanders in Malaya Chechnya . In contrast to the differences in these matters, Zedergolm was first appointed a battalion, and then regimental adjutant, then headquarters captain and adjutant to the commander of the troops on the Caucasian line from the cavalry general Zavadovsky . Upon the conquest of Lesser Chechnya, an expedition to Great Chechnya was equipped, in one of the detachments of which was Zedergolm. The zeal shown by him in these matters was distinguished by the orders of St. 3rd degree Anna with bow and st. 2nd degree Anna with swords.
In 1854, Zedergolm returned to the Tenginsky regiment and in 1856 was appointed his battalion commander. This and next year, he again participated in fierce battles, with the enemy in Greater Chechnya, accompanied by the ruin of many auls. The reward for these matters was the rank of lieutenant colonel (1857) and the appointment of Tiflis parade ground major (1858) as corrective; however, he remained in this position for only two years and was appointed commander of the Caucasian Linear No. 30 Battalion, and in 1863 - commander of the 157th Imereti Infantry Regiment . The following year, during the conquest of the Western Caucasus, Zedergolm was engaged in the construction of roads from the gorges of the rivers Bolshaya and Malaya Laba and participated in offensive operations on the territory of the Pekhovites and Akhchinkuhts. Produced in 1872 as a major general, with secondment to the 40th Infantry Division, Zedergolm was appointed the next year commander of the 2nd Brigade of the 40th Infantry Division, and then commander of the 2nd Caucasian Grenadier Division. Finally, in 1877, his appointment as an assistant inspector of hospitals of the Caucasus Military District and head of the Tiflis Military Hospital followed; in this position he remained until his death, which followed on January 27, 1878. For combat and service activities, Zederholm, in addition to many orders, received another 800 acres in the Kuban region .
He was married to the daughter of the historian M.P. Pogodin , Alexandra [1] .
