Geography

Located on the Tuloma River , 83 km from Murmansk along the Lotta highway.

It is included in the list of settlements of the Murmansk region prone to the threat of forest fires [2] .

History

Arose in connection with the construction of the Verkhnetulomskaya hydroelectric station . The status of an urban-type settlement has been since 1966 .

The population living in the territory of the settlement according to the 2010 All-Russian Population Census is 1580 people. Of these, 735 men (46.5%) and 845 women (53.5%) [17] [18] .
