Grandfather of Herman , Georg Heinrich Peter and Friedrich Ernst Kruckenberg.
Clinician in Halle, who studied medicine in Göttingen , where he received a doctorate in medicine in 1810 for his thesis “De cancro bulbi oculi humani”. He founded the famous clinic in Galle. Krukenburg was considered one of the most prominent clinicians of his time. The great fame of clinical teaching in Halle in the first half of the 19th century owed exclusively to his personality, since, being an eclectic in the best sense of the word, Kruckenberg in his clinical studies was always guided by the data of chemistry , physiology , pathological anatomy and histology . He considered therapy the ultimate and ultimate goal of all medical research and knowledge.
Kruckenberg’s works are exhausted, with the exception of the 2 volumes of the “Yearbook of the Galle Clinic”, as small articles in various medical journals.
