Heswan ( Hebrew חֶשְׁוָן ; also “marshevan”; “marheshvan”; “blvd”) - the second month of the Jewish year (when counting according to the Torah - the eighth). It usually corresponds to October or October - November . Consists of 29 or 30 days.
The full name of the month is Marheshvan. It comes from the Akkadian language , and means “the eighth month” [1] Initially, there was something like “varkh shman” - “the eighth month” (in Akkadian, the labial w constantly changed to labial m).
Folk etymology interprets the name of the month as “mar-hashwan” (bitter hashwan), since this is the only month in the Jewish calendar that does not account for any significant events or holidays.
Heswan's zodiac sign is Scorpio .
