Vadim G. Moller ( 1884 - 1962 ) - Ukrainian Soviet avant-gardist artist (cubist, constructivist, expressionist), theater artist, illustrator and architect . Vadim Moller was the first Russian artist to receive a gold medal at the International Exhibition of Modern Industrial and Decorative Art in Paris ( Art Deco ) in 1925.

Biography
Born in St. Petersburg in 1884 . His father, George Meller, was a Swede, his mother, Elena Caruso, was half Greek, half Italian.
In the period 1903 - 1908 he studied at the University of Kiev . Takes private lessons from the artist Franz Rubo .
From 1908 to 1912 he lives in Germany , where he studies at the Munich Academy of Arts and at the same time in the drawing studio of Heinrich Knier , where he meets Paul Klee , who introduces him to the Blue Rider group.
Then he moved to Paris , where he lives from 1912 to 1914 . In Paris, Meller studies in the studio of Antoine Bourdel , becomes a member of the Salon of Independent Vadim Moller together with other Russian artists (K. Malevich, A. Exter, etc.) is exhibited in the Spring and Autumn Salons .
The period 1918 - 1921 was marked by collaborations with the set designer Bronislava Nijinskaya in her Ballet Studio (Kiev).
In 1922, Vadim Moller was invited by Les Kurbas to the post of chief artist in the Ukrainian theater Berezil .
In 1925, Meller, together with A. Exter , N. Altman and other artists, participated in the International Exhibition of Modern Industrial and Decorative Art in Paris. At this exhibition, Vadim Meller was awarded the highest award. In the same year, his work was exhibited at the International Exhibition of Theatrical Art in New York . He teaches at the Kiev Art Academy together with V. Tatlin and A. Bogomazov . Joins the Association of Revolutionary Artists of Ukraine, founded by D. Burliuk .
In 1928, together with E. Lissitzky , A. Tyshler and V. Yermilov, she will take part in the International Press Exhibition in Cologne .
In 1934, together with I. Yu. Karakis and A. A. Tatsiy, he worked on the design of the Kharkov Regional House of K. Ye. Voroshilova (ROD) who stood for 9 years and was destroyed during the war in 1943. [1]
In 1935, together with V. D. Yermilov, he took part in the design of the Kharkov Palace of Pioneers .
After the war, he led the Institute of Monumental Painting and Sculpture of the Academy of Arts of Ukraine (in 1948 he was removed from office on charges of cosmopolitanism ), worked as a theater artist.
He died in Kiev on May 4, 1962 . Buried at Baikovo cemetery .
Vadim Moller was married to Nina Genk .
