England Open Badminton Championship

The England Open Badminton Championships is one of the oldest and most prestigious badminton tournaments. The first tournament was organized on April 4, 1899 in only three categories: male couples, female couples, mixed. The first three tournaments were called The Open English Championships. It was considered an unofficial World Cup until 1977 , when the IBF began to hold world championships. Since 1984, All England has been sponsored exclusively by Yonex . It is one of the BWF Super Series tournaments .

The tournament was not held during the years of world wars: during the First World War from 1915 to 1919 , and during the Second World War from 1940 to 1946 .
