The great-grandfather of Lambronatsi, Prince Oshin, moved in 1073 from the borders of Gandzak to Cilicia, where his friend Aplgarib Artsruni was governor. The latter gave Oshin the Lambron fortress in the Taurus mountains. Oshin and his son Hetum remain in imperial service and give rise to the princely family known in those parts
