Count Peter Kiprianovich Kreutz (February 1816 - February 17 (March 1), 1894) - commander of the Russian imperial army , cavalry general . The elder brother of the Moscow chief police officer Heinrich Kreitz .

Biography
From the Lutheran family of the Ostsee nobility . The son of General K.A. Kreutz , the nephew of General F.P. Offenberg . He was educated at the school of guards ensigns and cavalry junkers .
He began his service in 1833 as a non-commissioned officer in the Life Guards of the Ulan Regiment, on August 21, 1835, he was promoted to first officer rank. In 1849, commanding the division of the 16th Dragoon Tver Regiment , Kreut participated in pacifying the Hungarian uprising .
He commanded the Kargopol dragoon regiment in the Eastern War - first on the Danube , and then on the Crimean Peninsula - he was in the battles of Inkerman , Balaklava , and Evpatoria - near the village of Chebotarei on October 11, 1855. For the difference in the latter, Kreutz was awarded a golden saber with the inscription "For courage . " He was also awarded the medal "For the Defense of Sevastopol . " [one]
Produced on April 21, 1861 as a major general, Kreutz took command of His Majesty’s Life Guards Ulansky regiment , with whom he took an active part in pacifying the Polish rebellion and for military distinctions was enlisted as major general in the retinue of His Imperial Majesty and was awarded the Order of St. Vladimir III degree with swords and St. Stanislav I degree.
In 1867, Kreutz was appointed commander of the Guards Cavalry Brigade of the Warsaw Detachment. May 20, 1868 he was promoted to lieutenant general and from 1868 to 1874 he commanded the 1st Cavalry Division, from 1874 to 1891 he was for special assignments under the inspector general of the cavalry. May 15, 1883 promoted to general from the cavalry. In 1892 he was appointed a member of the Alexander Committee on the Wounded. He was buried at the Nikolsky cemetery of the Alexander Nevsky Lavra [2] .
Rewards
Among other awards he had the Order of St. Anne of the 1st degree - 1866, the Imperial Crown was granted this order in 1870. White Eagle - 1876, St. Alexander Nevsky - granted in 1881 - and diamond signs to it, St. Vladimir I degree - in 1893.
