Formation and regiment campaigns
Formed in the Caucasus on August 1, 1874, of the fourth battalions of the 20th Infantry Division, called the 163rd Infantry Regiment of Nashburg, and the battalions were composed of: 1st - from the battalion of the 77th Tenginsky infantry , 2nd - from battalion 78- Navaginsky Infantry , 3rd - from the battalion of the 79th Kura Infantry and 4th - from the battalion of the 80th Kabardian Infantry Regiment. The Nasheburg regiment received its baptism of fire during the Russian-Turkish war of 1877-1878. participating in military actions in the Pririonsky region. Being in the Kobuleti detachment of General Oklobzhio , Nasheburg were crossed on April 12 through the r. In 1883, the regiment was transferred to European Russia. On March 25, 1891, the regiment was commanded to be called the 163rd Infantry Regiment of the Lenkoran-Nasheburg Regiment, in order to preserve the memory of the Nasheburg Infantry Regiment in the Russian army in memory of the battle glory. The latter was formed in 1726 under the name Lenkoransky, was named Nasheburgsky in 1732, and then in 1834 entered the formation of three linear battalions.
During the Russo-Japanese War, the Lenkoran-Nasheburg regiment was mobilized and, after the Supreme Parade in Vitebsk on October 30, 1904, was sent to the Far East. Arriving on January 14, 1905, in Mukden, the Lenkorans-Nasheburgtsy were assigned to guard the railroad and occupied the stations Qiqihar , Ningutu , Fuludi and Boduna. On April 4, 1905, the regiment was transferred to the south in the city of Mamaykay and, having replaced the vanguard of the 6th Siberian Corps, stood for about a month in the Sipingai positions.
