Giovanni Cresimbimeni ( Italian: Giovanni Mario Crescimbeni ; 1663 - 1728 ) - Italian poet and historian of literature.

Founder of the Academic and Literary Society " Arcade Academy " ( Accademia degli Arcadi ) in Rome. His main works have long been considered the most complete and accurate source for the history of Italian literature until the 18th century :

• "Istoria della volgar poesia" ( 1698 );
• "Trattato della belleza della volgar poesia" ( 1700 );
• “Commentaru intorno alla volgar poesia storia” ( 1702 - 1711 ).
