In 1634, representatives of the Kretov clan were granted estates [1] .
Vasily Klementievich Kretov was under Lieutenant-General under Catherine II and received a diploma for noble dignity on December 10, 1791. His son Nikolai Vasilievich (1773-1839) was a senator.
The Kretovs clan was included in the VI part of the Noble family tree of the Tambov and Tula provinces of the Russian Empire .

In the Herbovnik of Anisim Titovich Knyazev in 1785 there is an image of a seal with the coat of arms of Major General (1764), Lieutenant General (1780), Tambov leader of the nobility Vasily Klementyevich Kretov: in the silver field of the shield is a silver horseshoe with spikes down, inside which there is a gray arrow, pointed up (Polish coat of arms Rudnitsa ). The shield is crowned with a crowned nobleman's helmet with a neck Kleinod . Crest : eagle wing. No bitter. Around the shield are military fittings in the form of: banners, cannons, drums, cores, sabers [2] .

Two pistols are depicted crosswise in a green field, and a silver saber is horizontally placed under them.
On the shield a noble crowned helmet. Crest: three ostrich feathers. The mark on the shield is silver, planted in green.
