History
The design of the Tour car was created in response to complaints from members of the Polish Army regarding the lack of sufficient protection against mines and attacks during patrols on missions in Afghanistan and Iraq. Humvee's patrol cars so far used in the Polish army did not provide sufficient protection against missile attacks and mine explosions. After numerous attempts and consultations with the soldiers of the Polish army, three prototypes of armored vehicles called Tours were created. The first field tests took place on the territory of the Military Institute of Tank and Automotive Engineering (WITPiS) on March 27, 2007. AMZ-Kutno also developed the larger AMZ Tur II , a completely different design.
In total, 5 prototypes were built, of which two were destroyed [1] . The first copies, to reduce the cost and speed up the assembly, were made on the basis of the strongly rebuilt chassis of the prototypes of new SCAM trucks (later the company was acquired by Iveco ). The chassis was rebuilt in accordance with the new requirements to such an extent that only axles and wheels remained from the original solutions. The designers were ultimately determined to use their own chassis and larger diameter wheels. Iveco also supplied the engine and transmission elements, as well as some equipment, such as a dashboard [1] . The last fifth prototype had a modified appearance of the front part, as well as other minor improvements [1] .
