District Hütteldorf is located in the center of the district of Penzing. It covers an area of ​​635.47 ha, of which 20 ha lie behind the Vienna River in the 13th district.

History

Hütteldorf was founded in the XI century and was first mentioned in 1170 as Utendorf ( Utendorf ) - the name comes from the noble family Utendorfer ( Utendorfer ).

In 1356, Hütteldorf became an independent parish. In 1599, his factory of the same name received a license for the production of beer with the name "Hütteldorfer". Vineyards also grew here. For a long time, the development of Hütteldorf was delayed by the Turkish wars and the outbreak of the plague.

In 1891, Hütteldorf was included in the 13th district of Vienna - Hitzing . After the Anschluss of Austria in 1938, he was included in the created 14th district of Vienna.
