Echoes: The Best of Pink Floyd

Echoes: The Best of Pink Floyd is a collection of songs by the British progressive rock group Pink Floyd . Released in Europe on November 5, 2001 ( EMI ), in the United States - November 6, 2001 (Capitol Records). In the first week, sales amounted to 215,000 copies.

About the album

The double disc is a collection of the best songs of Pink Floyd . Some long songs have been edited in shorter versions. According to the press release, “Echoes was made with the active participation of David Gilmore, Roger Waters, Nick Mason and Richard Wright.” However, according to Waters, he has little relation to him: "All power belongs to Pink Floyd Music Ltd., which has four votes against my one." He does not share the concept of the collection, preferring the chronological order of the songs. The only thing Roger could influence was a change of name: “What Dave suggested was disgusting - Some of the Parts . Then I had to get in and say: “What about the Echoes ?” ” [3] .

The song " When the Tigers Broke Free " was previously released only on a single and never appeared on CD. Before the release of the disc, an eighteen-minute video was released, which contained rare band footage, music and interviews.
