Getinax

Getinax prototype board with installed electronic components.

Getinaks is an electrically insulating laminated pressed material having a paper base impregnated with phenolic or epoxy resin [1] .

It is mainly used as the basis for blanks of printed circuit boards . The material has low mechanical strength, is easy to process, and has a relatively low cost. It is widely used for cheap manufacturing of circuit boards in low-voltage household equipment, since it allows stamping in a heated state, due to which a motherboard of any shape is obtained together with all the holes.

Getinax refers to combustible materials. Ignition temperature - 285 ° С, self-ignition - 480 ° С, self-heating - 120 ° С. Getinax is sometimes used in the manufacture of simple circuit boards of electronic devices in order to reduce the cost of the product. . In the vast majority, PCBs (most often fiberglass ) are used instead, which are superior to getinax in terms of fire resistance, strength, adhesion to foil and a number of other parameters important for electronics.
