Roving 's symptom is a symptom of appendicitis .

Methodology

The fingers of the left hand assembled together are pressed against the front wall of the abdomen , respectively, to the location of the descending colon ; without taking away the left hand, with the right fingers press on the overlying section of the descending colon; the symptom is considered positive if, with pressure with the right hand, pain in the right iliac region occurs or intensifies

Named after Niels Roving ( 1862 - 1927 ), Danish surgeon
