The World Chess Championship was held from September 13 to 29, 2007 in Mexico City .
The tournament was attended by world champion Kramnik, who were personally admitted to participate, Anand, Morozevich and Svidler, who took 2-4 places at the World Championship 2005 (FIDE) , as well as winners of the challenging matches of 2007 Aronian, Gelfand, Grischuk and Leko.
