History

The historical roots of USATU go back to the 19th century: the University of Warsaw was the Warsaw Polytechnic Institute [1] , which was transferred to the city of Novocherkassk in 1907 (where the Novocherkassk Polytechnic Institute was created on its basis).

The official history of the university dates back to 1932. Then the Rybinsk Aviation Institute was founded, the base of which was a branch of the Novocherkassk Aviation Institute [2] . In autumn 1941, the Rybinsk Aviation Institute was evacuated to Ufa and in 1942 renamed the Ufa Aviation Institute named after Sergo Ordzhonikidze (UAI). [3] (In 1955, the Institute in Rybinsk was revived, now it is the P. A. Solovyov Rybinsk State Aviation Technical University ).

In 1982, for his merits in the training of qualified specialists and the development of scientific research, the AIM was awarded the Order of Lenin [4] .

In 1992, the AIM received the status of a technical university [5] .

In 2011, the university was renamed the Ufa State Aviation Technical University, Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Professional Education [6] .

In 2016, the university was renamed the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education "Ufa State Aviation Technical University" [7]
