Biography

Gazinur Gafiatullin was born in the village of Sugushla, Leninogorsk district. Gazinur's father - Gafiyatulla - served in the tsarist army, then worked as a day laborer, herded cattle, did seasonal work. Mother - Masrura - also worked as a day laborer.

In search of work, the family moved to the Orenburg region. There, mother Gazinur died of hunger. Having buried her, Gafiyatulla and her seven-year-old son again grazed cattle. In the village of Batyr, Gafiyatulla married the widow of Shamsuri. The stepmother was very strict towards Gazinur.

Gafiyatulla with a new family returned to the village of Sugushla, Leninogorsk district. There, in 1925, Ghazinur was born brother Haris.

In the 1930s, some villagers began to move to the Bugulma district, where they formed the Krasnogvardeets collective farm. The Gafiatullins family entered the collective farm. Gazinur was taken to logging, he worked there for two years, and also worked on road construction.

In 1934, after harvesting, Gazinur and Gilmuri played a wedding. They had a daughter, Samiga.

In 1939, Gazinur was drafted into the Red Army. At the end of the Soviet-Finnish war, Gazinur was demobilized and returned to the collective farm. The son of Mudaris was born.

With the outbreak of World War II, Gazinur was again drafted into the army and sent to Petrozavodsk. He served there for four months as a nurse, then ended up in the 17th Infantry Regiment and participated in battles. Joined the RCP (b).

Gazinur was sent to the regimental school for training junior commanders, returned to the unit on December 5, 1943 with the rank of sergeant.

On the night of January 13, 1944, his regiment entered into a heavy battle for the liberation of the village of Ovsishche in the Pskov Region. At dawn, the fighters went on the attack. Sergeant Gafiatullin with a machine gun and grenades crawled forward. And when there was no more than 25 meters to the bunker, he rose to his full height and threw three grenades. The machine gun was silent only for a moment, but then again began to pour lead on the attackers. Then Ghazinur rushed to DotA with a swift throw and covered his embrasure with his chest. The machine gun choked, and the entire battalion rushed to the attack.

Gazinur Gafiatullin repeated the feat of Alexander Matrosov. He was buried southwest of the village of Yekimov, Novosokolnichesky District, Kalinin Region.

The decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR on the conferment of the title of Hero of the Soviet Union Gazinur Gafiatullin was posthumously published in June 1944.

In 1963, Gazinur was reburied in a mass grave in the village of Ivanovo ( Velikoluksky district of the Pskov region).

In the village of Sugushla of the Bugulminsky district in 1963, the Gazinur Gafiatulin House Museum was opened. In 2005, the Gazinur Gafiatulin House Museum was reconstructed. Every year in the spring a sports festival is held in honor of the hero. Relatives of Gazinur are invited to this holiday.

Memory
