Untouchables marked the reuse of alternative metal instead of hip-hop new metal from the band’s earlier albums, although several new metal songs such as “Bottled Up Inside” were present on the album. New techniques were also used on the album: Untouchables contained elements such as overloaded guitars and electronic inserts in some songs, giving the album a soft feel mixed with eerie, which one critic called a “redemptive symphony”.

Untouchables was sold with a circulation of 434,000 copies in the first week, but could not exceed sales of The Eminem Show , so it made its debut on the second line in Billboard [2] . The group blamed the low sales of Internet pirates, but the reason for this could be a change in the musical style of the group compared to Follow The Leader , many respected magazines called the album "the best work" Korn [3] .

The album hit the Internet a few months before the official release. As a result of this, there have been many assumptions regarding the authenticity of the material and the set of tracks on the official release. Nevertheless, when the official album went on sale, it turned out that the only difference between the album available via the Internet and the official disc was the names of the songs (except for the track “Here To Stay” ), the changed order of the tracks, and the intro to the track removed for unknown reasons “Beat It Upright” and the ending of the track “Embrace” , the final version of the album also lacks a loss before the last chorus in “I'm Hiding” and there is a slight difference in the ending of “Make Believe” (No last hit on the plate). Also unavailable in the online version of the album was the remix of “Here To Stay” , later included in the American version of the album marked “limited edition”. Untouchables was also released in a “clean” version with dumb obscene vocabulary that didn't include the song “Beat It Upright”.
