Biography

Ivan Bogdanov was born on June 19, 1802, came from the nobility of the Moscow province [1] ; He was educated in the mountain cadet corps .

Having begun service in the Borodino Jaeger Regiment as a lieutenant in 1820, in the same year he was promoted to the rank of ensignant and, according to the will of his superiors, was first transferred to the 28th jaeger regiment , then to the Moscow Infantry Regiment , and finally, in 1826 with the rank of second lieutenant - to the Astrakhan Grenadier .

Produced on a commission in 1828, he was appointed adjutant to the commander of the 2nd Brigade of the 14th Infantry Division, Major General Kakhanov 2nd , the following year, and took part in the transfer of troops through the Boryasom Gorge to Asian Turkey to the Akhaltsykh fortress and in taking the last . In 1830, under the command of Lieutenant General Baron Rosen , Bogdanov took part in the movements of troops in Northern Dagestan and in Kumyk possession, where a popular unrest began. In a shootout near the village of Gimry with the Kaisobulin residents, Bogdanov showed excellent courage and was awarded the Order of St. Annas of the 4th degree, with the inscription "For courage." In 1831, Bogdanov, in the detachment of Major General Kakhanov, took part in a campaign to the Burnaya fortress, which was surrounded by the masses of Kazi-Mulla , moreover, it was on fire under Muslim Aul and Tarka, and later at the village of Erpeni and Tasilk -Yelchi. For military services, Bogdanov received the Order of St. 3rd degree Anna with a bow. In 1832, Bogdanov was appointed adjutant to the Smolensk, Vitebsk and Mogilev governor-general, Prince Khovansky. Having held this position until December 1836, Bogdanov executed various orders of the Governor General. In the same 1833, Bogdanov was transferred to the Life Guards Pavlovsky Regiment with the rank of second lieutenant, and in 1836 he was awarded the Order of St. Vladimir 4th degree. In 1837, Bogdanov was seconded to the headquarters of the Separate Gendarmes Corps , in which his long-term career took place.

In 1838 he was appointed adjutant to the Yaroslavl gendarme head officer, in 1842 he was promoted to majors and sent by the gendarme head officer to Tiflis , in 1843 he was transferred to Vladimir province . January 12, 1846 was awarded the Order of St. George 4th degree (No. 7488 according to the list of Grigorovich - Stepanov).

Colonel Bogdanov received the rank of Colonel in 1855, for distinction in service, and in 1866 he was promoted to major general and dismissed from service with a uniform and full pension.

Ivan Minich Bogdanov died on October 12, 1867.
