Settlement
The first existing Fernandino group appeared on the island of Fernando Po. Fernandino is a mixture of creoles moving to Fr. Bioko and the descendants of liberated slaves from Jamaica , Puerto Rico and Cuba , who settled there in the 19th century. These are the descendants of the unions of the Bubi mulattos and men of Spanish origin. As a rule, offspring from such a union were not recognized by their fathers, however, some couples still married in the Catholic Church. (Yakubovsky 1992: 58-60.) During the colonial rule and the beginning of the struggle for independence, many Fernadino settled in Annobon , the Canary Islands and Of Spain . To avoid political and social problems. (Melnikov, Korochantsev 2001: 36-38.)
Fernandino Mainland Guinea
