Geography

It is located 7 km north of the administrative center of the region of the city of Ulyanovsk (while directly bordering the territory of its urban district ), on the right bank of the Sviyaga River on the slopes of the Isheevskaya Mountain.

History

The first mentions of the settlement of Isheevka date back to the beginning of the 17th century (“service Tatars with Prince Isheev”, Akchurins ). It was founded on the right bank of the Sviyaga River in 1625 .

In 1648 , in connection with the construction of the Simbirsk-Karsun serif line , a detachment of equestrian Cossacks (50 people) was settled in Isheevka, which laid the foundation for the Russian settlement of the region. The Cossacks carried guard service on the line and guarded the approaches to Simbirsk.

In the second half of the 17th century, the position of the serving Cossacks sharply worsened, which became the reason for their active participation in the siege of Simbirsk by the army of Stepan Razin .

At the beginning of the XVIII century, the Cossacks were resettled with their families in the city of Azov , and their land was sold to Major General Prince Sergei Mikhailovich Dolgoruky and nobleman Fedor Stepanov Ivashev .

In 1790, Isheevka passed into the hands of the noblemen Stepan Egorovich and Anna Afonasevna Krotkov , who built a rich estate here, built an extensive orchard and pond fish farm, opened a sawmill on a water engine, and in 1802 a cloth factory.

By 1910, more than 2 thousand inhabitants lived in Isheevka, 387 of them worked at the factory, the rest were peasant.

In the middle of the XIX century , a cloth factory was founded in the settlement, on the site of which there was a modern textile mill of Ishteks JSC until 2005. Isheevka was the center of cloth production.

The status of a working village was assigned by decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the RSFSR of November 27, 1945 . In 1943-1956, Isheevka was the center of the Isheevsky district .

By a decree, the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the RSFSR of November 2, 1956 became the center of the Ulyanovsk region.

By the decree of the PVS of the RSFSR of September 4, 1959, the center of the Ulyanovsk region was transferred from the settlement of Isheevka in Ulyanovsk .

By the decree of the PVS of the RSFSR of April 1, 1977, the center of the Ulyanovsk region was again transferred from Ulyanovsk to Isheevka.

Of particular importance in the history of Isheevka was the period 1973-1987, when Yury Frolovich Goryachev was at the head of the Ulyanovsk region. Under him, large-scale construction began. Two new kindergartens were built (in 1977 and 1985), the new building of the district clinic (1978), the district telecommunication center (1978), the post office (1978), the pharmacy (1980), the district court building and the prosecutor's office (1980), Department of the USSR State Bank (1980), catering building (Sviyaga cafe, 1980), building of the CPSU District Committee (1980, now the district administration), district executive committee (1981), District Department of Internal Affairs (1983), new building of the fire station (1982), three new residential buildings (including one nine-story building), a new park was built in the upper part of the village and a new high school was built (1980, now face ) In addition to the old one, built in 1940.

There is a migration of the population from the regional center to Isheevka, where it moves to the place of residence. The reason for the move is the silence of the village and at the same time proximity to Ulyanovsk, with which there is a constant transport connection in the form of several minibus routes.

Economics

Since 2006, the factory went bankrupt. All property is sold out. Cloth production is closed. The population of the village is declining and in 2006 amounted to about 12 thousand people. The source of income for the residents of the village is small-scale production, trade, pensions and unemployment benefits. A significant part of the population works in Ulyanovsk.
