Railways and cable cars
The summit can be reached by train from the Bavarian Zugspitzbahn from Germany, and by the cable car of the Tyrolean Zugspitzbahn from Austria.
The Bavarian line comes from the city of Garmisch-Partenkirchen , built in the years 1928-1930.
From the valley to the top are two more cable cars.
