Monstrum

Monstrum is a Polish heavy metal band . It was founded in 1994 in Rzeszow on the initiative of Mariusz Valtosya (vocals), Vaclav Dudek (guitar), Tomasz Maternovsky (bass) and Peter Kubas (drums). In this composition, the group did not sell any material.

Around 1996 , Tomas Maternovsky left the band, his duties were taken by vocalist Mariusz Valtos, but besides this, the second guitarist Pavel Guzek comes.

In 1997, Peter Kubas left the group, instead of which Wojciech Bartnik came. In the same year, the group performed at the Dedal Rock Festiwal festival in Mielec in front of a huge audience. A year later, the group realized their first demo material, recorded thanks to the cash award that the musicians received at Dedal Rock Festiwal. This disc, called Demo 98 , was recorded by RSC Recording Studio.

In 1999 , thanks to the support of a local radio station, Monstrum performed on stage before the Quo Vadis concert. In the same year, the group again performed at Dedal Rock Festiwal, showing off in first place. A year later, Wojciech Bartnik leaves the group, and Shimon Antkovich came to replace him. In 2001 , Pavel Guzek also left the group. After a long search, Martin Habay becomes the second guitarist.

As such, the group released another demo material, called Demo 2002 . Shortly afterwards, Shimon Antkovich leaves Monstrum, and Przemyslaw Rzeszutek begins to play instead. In September 2003 , as part of the award received at the Festiwal Muzyków Podkarpacia (Festival of Musicians of Subcarpathia), organized by the Rejs Cinema in Zheshov, the group recorded the song “Wolności Smak” (Taste of Freedom) and made a video clip for it. In general, everything was released in 2004 in the single of the same name.

In 2004 , the expanded group, in the person of the third guitarist, who was Damian Zayonts, the group began work on their debut album Za horyzontem ciszy (Beyond the Horizon of Silence), which they finished in May. On November 6 of the same year, a jubilee concert was held at the Rejs club in Zheshov for the tenth anniversary of the group’s activities, which was also the premiere of the debut album, which provoked positive reviews from the press.

In mid- 2005 , Vaclav Dudek left the band, replaced by Milos Kosciulek, in addition, Mariusz Valtosc refused to play the bass guitar, completely surrendering to the vocals. The band’s new bass player was Tomasz Guzek, brother of former guitarist Pavel Guzek. In the new line-up, the group performed at Conquer Festiwal 2005 as part of the Metal Days program in Malbork, at the Merciless East Estival II, as well as at the viewing of RockAutostrada rock groups, where it took fourth place.

A few months later, Vaclav Dudek returned to the group, with whom they performed before the concert of the group Dżem during an open air entitled Żegnaj lato na ro (c) k! (Goodbye summer for a year; hidden subtext is contained in the word YEAR, which in Polish sounds like ROCK). On December 3, the band played a musical review of GO ROCK in Stalova Volya. A year later, with the new bassist Tomasz Tšpis, the group began the implementation of the next album, called VIII Dzień Tygodnia (Eighth Day of the Week). The album premiered on January 5, 2007 . On April 10, thanks to the work of FONOGRAFIKA, the album “VIII Dzień Tygodnia” hit the shelves of music stores throughout Poland.

On May 16, 2007 , the band announced that Camille Shlivinsky had replaced their bassist Tomasz Tšpis. The first concert with him was to take place on June 16.

Now the group is shooting a video for the song Krzyż (Cross) from the album "VIII Dzień Tygodnia". Professionals from Lublin, Fabryczna Art team work with them.
