Vladimir Ilyich Axelrod (b. December 6, 1944 ) - candidate of pedagogical sciences , methodologist of the St. Petersburg City Palace of Youth Creativity , historian , local historian , teaches the history of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region . Chairman of the Coordinating Council of the St. Petersburg cultural - patriotic youth public movement " Young - for the revival of St. Petersburg ", uniting more than 1600 children who are interested in the history and fate of their native city.

Biography
Born in Leningrad in 1944 in a family of Soviet functionaries. Father Ilya Lvovich and mother Zoya Nikolaevna were party employees. The younger brother is Nikolai (Creative nickname - A. Nick). Cousin - Boris Vantalov (Creative nickname - B. Constrictor ).
Dean of the Youth Faculty of the University of St. Petersburg ( Youth University of St. Petersburg ).
He gives lectures and conducts excursions for schoolchildren.
In 1973, he founded the Petropol Historical and Local Lore Club, which is part of the St. Petersburg Palace of Youth Creativity .
